Cambrios gets DoD contract for flexible solar cells (Silicon Valley)

Cambrios Technologies Corp. said Monday it was awarded a contract with the Department of Defense to produce lightweight, flexible, cost-effective solar energy photovoltaics.

Sunnyvale-based Cambrios did not disclose financial terms of the deal.

The company makes a transparent, conductive liquid material used in the manufacture of various electronics. Cambrios said this contract represents its first public announcement regarding the feasibility of using this material as the electrode of a photovoltaic cell.
