Redwood gets U.S. grant for LED lighting (San Francisco)
Redwood Systems and five other companies will receive research grants from the Department of Energy to advance LED lighting technology.
The Fremont-based lighting startup is developing an integrated power, control and communications platform for commercial lighting using LEDs — or light emitting diodes. LEDs are far more efficient than a standard light bulbs.
