Wells Fargo launches environmental blog (Charlotte)
Wells Fargo & Co. has launched a blog to report on its environmental stewardship and solicit feedback from the company’s shareholders.
The blog, dubbed the Wells Fargo Environmental Forum, provides information on banking products and services that save energy. Topics also include renewable energy, green buildings, sustainable agriculture and the company’s energy-efficiency efforts.
Last year, Wells Fargo set a goal to reduce its U.S.-based greenhouse gas emissions 20 percent below 2008 levels by 2018.
“We want to be as open and clear as possible about our environmental efforts — both our accomplishments and challenges — and share our experiences, ideas and thoughts as we work to integrate environmental responsibility into everything we do,” says Mary Wenzel, director of environmental affairs.
