ECOtality hits Nasdaq (Phoenix)
ECOtality Inc., the Tempe company working on the EV Project — a $99.8 million contract with the U.S. Department of Energy — has made the jump from over the counter to Nasdaq.
Shares began trading today on Nasdaq Capital Markets under the symbol ECTY as the Dow Jones Industrial Average began a slide of more than 200 points.
ECOtality’s stock, however, shot up on its opening today to $6.50 per share having closed at $6.05 May 19. Although much of that momentum was lost as of mid-morning, shares remained ahead for the day at $6.14.
The EV Project’s goal is to install a network of electric vehicle charging stations in five states, including Arizona.
