Puget Sound Energy orders 149 wind turbines
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has ordered 149 wind turbines for its Lower Snake River Wind Project in Garfield County, in the southeast corner of Washington state.
The Bellevue-based utility ordered the turbines from Siemens Energy, which wouldn’t divulge the price. The turbines will have a capacity of 343 megawatts. Siemens said that PSE has an option to order 110 more turbines for the project.
The 34 project in Garfield County will significantly increase PSE’s total wind-power generating capacity and is expected to provide clean power for more than 100,000 homes.
