Scientific Conservation Inc. raises $9M (San Francisco)

Berkeley’s Scientific Conservation Inc. raised $9 million in its first round of venture funding.

The company makes software and technology used to increase energy efficiency in buildings and cut their pollution.

The Westly Group and Draper Fisher Jurvetson gave the money in this round. Gary Dillabough of the Westly Group will take a seat on Scientific Conservation’s board of directors. Dillabough worked in the past at eBay Inc. (NASDAQ: EBAY).

Joshua Raffaelli of DFJ is already on the board.

Russ McMeekin is CEO of Scientific Conservation.
