BP Solar gets new CEO (San Francisco)

BP Solar has a new CEO in Mike Petrucci.

Petrucci was the former Vice President of Global Operations for the San Francisco-based unit of British oil company BP plc (NYSE: BP). He has worked in that position since 2007. Before that, Petrucci was President of Amkor Technology Philippines Inc., a semiconductor company, for six years, and spent 13 years with Compaq Computer Corp. in various jobs.

A BP spokesman said former CEO Reyad Fezzani decided to leave the company but said he didn’t have information on where Fezzani might be working now. Fezzani had been BP Solar’s CEO since 2008.

Fezzani worked for BP for more than 20 years and led BP Solar through a transition from being a solar panel producer to a solar marketer and solar energy retailer. That transition involved cutting global manufacturing and laying off workers in Frederick, Maryland and Madrid, Spain.
