Tesla to buy NUMMI equipment (San Jose)

Tesla Motors Inc. said on Thursday it will pay $15 million to buy some of the equipment at the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. plant it has already agreed to acquire for $42 million.

The equipment in the Fremont plant formerly used by a partnership of General Motors and Toyota Motor Corp. wasn't included in the sale of the plant.
