Viridity Software takes in $8M (Boston)

Energy management tools firm Viridity Software Inc. has raised $8 million in a Series B round, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The Burlington, Mass.-based software firm focuses on the data center industry and previously told the Boston Business Journal that its staff expanded from 18 to 30 in July amid rising demand for energy efficiency services.

Viridity previously raised $7 million in a Series A round in late 2008 from Waltham investment firms Battery Ventures and North Bridge Venture Partners.

The company could not immediately be reached to discuss the investors that took part in the Series B round.
