Energy Composites plans joint venture in Wisconsin

Energy Composites Corp., a Wisconsin Rapids composites plastics firm that is building a wind turbine blade plant, has reached an agreement with Danish firm SSP Technology A/S to establish a joint venture in Wisconsin.

The strategic alliance will back both companies’ efforts to supply blades to wind turbine generators for North American customers, Energy Composites said in a release.

SSP, which is based in Kirkeby, Denmark, will provide blade design and prototype production, while Energy Composites will provide blade manufacturing services. The joint venture will manufacture molds and prefabricated root segments for both companies and their customers.
