Port Townsend, Jefferson County tops in renewable energy
Washington's leaders in renewable energy are Port Townsend and Jefferson County, according to the state Department of Revenue.
According to the state, Port Townsend has 67 certified renewable energy projects, which translates to one project for every 134 residents. And Jefferson County, where Port Townsend is located, has one project for every 337 residents as of Sept. 1.
King County had the greatest number of renewable energy projects at 479, which translates to one project for every 4,036 people.
Following Jefferson County were San Juan County (one project for every 434 residents), Klickitat County (one for every 466 residents) and Clallam County (one for every 922 residents).
