SunPower to build 10-MW solar park in Delaware

SunPower Corp. said Wednesday it will design and build a 10-megawatt solar-power park in Delaware.

San Jose-based SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWRA, SPWRB) said the Dover Sun Park will be built for White Oak Solar Energy LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of LS Power Group.

SunPower said the park, which is expected to be operational next summer, will deliver solar power to the regional utility grid operated by the city of Dover.

SunPower will install its solar panels along with its Tracker systems at the 103-acre site. The company said its Tracker follows the sun's movement during the day, increasing sunlight capture by up to 25 percent over conventional fixed-tilt systems while reducing land use requirements.

SunPower has a Northwest regional office in Portland.
