New hotel amenity: Free EV charging
Hotel guests who drive electric vehicles in Silicon Valley may soon be able to “refuel,” or plug in their cars, wherever they stay, and Palo Alto’s Creekside Inn is leading the charge.
The hotel, which is a member of the Greystone Hotels group, unveiled two electric car charging stations from Campbell-based Coulomb Technologies Inc. at its El Camino Real property earlier this week. It is one of the first hotels in the Bay Area, and among only a handful in the state, to offer the complimentary, eco-friendly amenity to its guests.
"This is an investment in our future," said Creekside Inn General Manager Luis Carreno. The stations were obtained from a grant provided by Santa Clara County through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, he added.
