No Solyndra bids by deadline

No buyers have stepped forward.

Solyndra LLC reportedly hasn't received any bidders by its Tuesday deadline, according to a Thomson Reuters story Wednesday. A buyer could have helped the bankrupt Fremont-based solar panel maker restart production, hire some of its laid off staff and continue operating.

According to the story: "Court documents suggest that auctioneers who have already been retained will soon begin a piecemeal sale of the remaining production equipment and real estate."

Lawyers representing former Solyndra employees have also asked a bankruptcy court judge not to grant the company's request to pay a half million dollars in bonuses to 21 current employees.

Solyndra last week asked for permission from U.S. Bankruptcy Court to pay nearly two dozen employees bonuses of between $10,000 and $50,000.
