Opower adds coupons
Arlington, Va.-based Opower Inc., a maker of energy-monitoring software, will now offer consumer energy-consumption reports that come with coupons for energy-efficient products.
Its first retail partner is The Home Depot Inc.
Opower said the new program, called Opower Marketplace, is aimed at increasing consumer participation in lowering energy bills by bringing together utilities, retailers and manufacturers in the context of its personalized home-energy reports.
The company did not disclose financial details of its partnership with Atlanta-based Home Depot.
Opower also said Tuesday that it has generated 25 million home-energy reports and expects to double that number this year.
More than 60 utilities across the country are Opower customers.
Opower said its home-energy reports, sent to customers by their utilities, have led to savings of more than $66 million for customers to date.
