Tesla will unveil its SUV in February according to a report.

Tesla Motors Inc. will unveil its Model X electric SUV on Feb. 9, according a report from GigaOm's Eart2Tech.

The Palo Alto-based electric vehicle maker (NASDAQ:TSLA) has said it plans to bring the car to market in late 2013, producing about 15,000 vehicles in 2014.

The company's sold out Model S sedan is expected to reach its first customers this July.

Tesla's stock closed Friday at $26.91 per share, down 0.77 percent. Its communications spokeswoman Camille Ricketts also announced Thursday she will leave the company Jan. 13 for a new job.

Tesla inked a deal with Toyota last year to supply electric drive trains for Toyota's electric RAV4.
