Pickens company partners on West Texas wind farm
Two Dallas companies are partnering on the construction of a 377-megawatt wind farm south of Lubbock.
Mesa Power Group LLC, which was created by T. Boone Pickens in 2007, and Wind Tex Energy plan to begin commercial operations at the Bor-Lynn Wind Project in 2013. The project is located in both Borden and Lynn counties.
The companies announced this week that they plan to complete development and obtain financing for the project in the second half of this year.
The project has an interconnection agreement with Wind Energy Transmission Texas, and will interconnect to a Texas Competitive Renewable Energy Zone line scheduled for completion early next year.
