Green dog houses on display in Seattle

With features including green roofs, natural lighting, rainwater capture and bamboo cabinetry for leash storage, top-shelf dog houses were on the market last month in Seattle.
The Luxe Barkitecture! charity auction was held at the Seattle Design Center on May 24 and five remainging unsold dog houses will go up for grabs on eBay next week.
Seattle dog owners paid dearly – between $1,700 and $2,700 apiece – for five custom doghouses designed by Washington architects to raise funds for The Seattle Children’s PlayGarden and the Seattle Humane Society.
Ten teams of architects, builders, designers, project managers and landscapers – yes, these pet palaces include their own grounds – created the doghouses. They went at it tooth and nail.
