Sacramento getting 28 EV charging stations
The city of Sacramento is installing 28 electric vehicle charging stations in city public garages at no charge to taxpayers.
Installation is scheduled to take place between August and November.
A grant from the California Energy Commission is covering the installation cost. The ChargePoint America Program is providing the equipment.
On June 26, the City Council approved participating in the ChargePoint America Program, a program sponsored by Coulomb Technologies to provide electric vehicle charging infrastructure to nine regions in the United States. The program was formed with federal stimulus funding.
There already are 32 charging stations in city parking facilities.
